What we collect when you send an inquiry or buy a Unity project, why we hold it, and how to have it removed.

Last updated: Draft — pending legal review

1. Who we are

GameBuilders ("the studio", "we") is operated by [studio legal entity], registered in [jurisdiction]. For anything in this policy, contact [studio email address].

2. Information we collect

When you submit a project inquiry we collect the information you enter:

  • your name, business email address and, optionally, your company or studio name;
  • the service you are asking about, target platform, budget range, desired timeline, project description and any reference link you provide;
  • for recovery requests, your confirmation that you own the project or hold authorization, and a description of the files you have;
  • the date and time of submission, and the form that produced it.

When you purchase a Unity project we additionally process the order record and any support correspondence. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider and are never stored by us.

3. Why we use it

To respond to your inquiry, assess feasibility, prepare quotations, deliver and support the work or the purchased licence, and keep a record of the commercial relationship. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for unrelated advertising.

4. Legal basis

We process inquiry and purchase information to take steps at your request before entering a contract, to perform a contract, and for our legitimate interest in running the studio and keeping accurate business records. Where consent is required, you give it explicitly on the form and may withdraw it at any time.

5. Files and confidentiality

Do not send confidential source files, credentials or unpublished business documents with an inquiry. We request project material only after scope and authorization are confirmed, over an agreed transfer method, and use it solely for the engagement. Inquiries and any files received are stored privately, are never published, and are not shared with other clients.

6. Sharing and processors

We use service providers for application hosting, database storage and transactional email. They process data on our instructions only. We may disclose information where legally required, and to professional advisers under confidentiality obligations.

7. Retention

Inquiry records are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and to maintain business records, and are then deleted or anonymised. Assessment material is deleted or returned at the end of an engagement as set out in the confidentiality terms we agree in writing.

8. Your rights

Subject to your jurisdiction, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, object to processing, or ask for a copy in a portable format. Write to [studio email address] and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies and analytics

The site uses only the storage required to operate it. If measurement analytics are enabled, they are configured without advertising identifiers and are disclosed here before launch.

10. Security

Inquiries and order records are stored in access-controlled systems, restricted to studio staff who need them. Form submissions are validated server-side and protected against automated abuse. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send material you cannot afford to have assessed.

11. Changes

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above changes and, where required, we notify people with an active engagement.
